Well hello there!

I’m so pleased that you made it, welcome! I’m going to guess that if you’re here you are planning a wedding (how did I know?)

So let me introduce myself. My name is Julie, and I’m a wedding photographer based in the beautiful English Lake District. I have the huge pleasure of spending time photographing couples in one of the most beautiful regions of England.

A little bit about me

I grew up on a small dairy farm on the shores of Lower Lough Erne in Northern Ireland! (Definite water theme going on here!)  My memories are mainly of an idyllic upbringing, jumping rides with friends on the back of tractors towing hay and taming wild donkeys (unsuccessfully!) I’ve always loved taking photographs (yes I was that annoying friend, long before Facebook!)  It was in later life (after several very serious jobs in HR) that I secured my first professional camera. I knew that a love affair had started, and I would do this job until I dropped (hopefully that will be a long time off!)

I began photographing families and events way back in 2017, fast forward after some very serious kit acquisition and training. My focus on wedding photography properly began in 2021. I now have about 100 weddings under my belt and a few awards too (all of which I received via nominations from my wonderful couples )

I couldn't love photographing weddings more than I already do, it's such an honour and a privilege. My role on your big day is to capture your day as it unfolds and make sure the result is that you have images to cherish and treasure for years to come.

On your wedding day I’m there as many things. A guide, a friend and most importantly I’m there to capture your wedding day, in a beautiful, relaxed and un-intrusive way making you feel completely at ease and comfortable.

Having documented many weddings my advice to you when doing your planning is to stay true to you as a couple. In my experience the most beautiful weddings over the years are the ones where the couple have made decisions that reflect them be unique, be authentic, be you. It’s got to be your day or the highway! You are the boss!

And if you do fancy a little adventure out on the day, making the most of the scenery, I am your gal. (I won’t keep you away from the action for long) I love nothing more than taking you off on a little romantic stroll, capturing some spontaneous laughter & happy smiles on the way.

So congratulations on the start of your wedding journey. Have a little gander through my website and if you like what you see, please get in touch. I can't wait to hear all about your plans and of course, I would love to be your wedding photographer!

Capturing special moments.

The untameable donkey!

Donkeys are very common in rural Ireland. They are actually highly intelligent animals, remembering places and other donkeys up to periods of 25 years. All donkeys across the world share one similar characteristic, which is a black cross found on their neck. They can be very loyal and affectionate animals forming very strong bonds with their owners.
